Ping Pong Tournament
Event details
We are doing a doubles tournament - so no flying solo! Invite friends and family to team up with you, or come as you are to team up with others! This is a great place to meet other professional creatives in the area.
All profits from tickets, team fundraising, and individual donations from the Ping Pong Tournament are going to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Fox Valley.
Big Brothers Big Sisters aims to develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.
Did you know it costs $1,500 for one child to get matched? And with over 130 kids on the waitlist, the need is great. But this means that the money raised through this event will specifically go towards getting those kids off the waitlist, and providing the opportunity for them to have a brighter future!
Team fundraising!
To help our club make a bigger impact with our events, we will begin to use GoFundMe Team pages. It is not required, but it is a great way to spread awareness and raise more money for the charities we support. Here is a guide you can use to set up your team account, and tips for sharing with your networks!
What to wear
You and your teammate can wear the same color or even have a theme picked out to spice it up! You have the power to be as goofy or serious as you want.
Rules of the game
We will have group rules debrief before the tournament begins. If you aren't there by 6pm, you can't join late - so be on time! We will do best of one set (play to 21) for the first two rounds, then the best of three sets (play to 11) from the third round on.
How we'll get started
5:30-6pm: Network, organize teams
6:00pm: Games Begin
6:30-7pm: Chipotle Buffet arriving (*snacks and drinks available throughout the event)
Awards
Winning team gets to take home the traveling trophy and bragging rights. Like always, we'll have some fun individual awards to give away too!
Parking
Here are some options for parking in Downtown Appleton:
- Paid Parking in the ramp across the street from the Performing Arts Center (directly behind BConnected building)
- Go to the 3rd level of the garage, and walk through the door which takes you into a skywalk
- On the right side of the hallway, go through the door that says BConnected
- Take those stairs down to the office door
- Free Parking Lots behind the Chase Building and to the left of the Post Crescent Building
- Free Street Parking after 6pm
